本系列節目的形式與一般的「千錘百鍊」有所不同，是一個新的競賽系列，邀請到美國最有經驗的工匠、武術師和刀具專家。在每一集中，參賽者必須經過重重障礙的限時考驗，測試其刀鋒的強度、銳利度和工藝以及他們掌控刀具的技能。只有最快過關的兩名選手才能進入每週的最後一輪比賽。每集的獲獎者都可以獲得現金獎勵，並且在本賽季的最後一場比賽中爭奪冠軍寶座。
The series is a different format from the usual Forged In FIre and is a new competition series featuring the country's most experienced blade smiths, martial artists, and knife experts. In every episode, competitors take a timed run through an obstacle course which tests the strength, sharpness, and craftsmanship of their blades, along with their skills at wielding them. Only the two competitors with the fastest times gain entry to the final round each week. The winner of each episode earns a cash prize, and a coveted spot in the season finale where they will compete in the Championship showdown.
